MatchFEM 1.0
MatchFEM is a Grasshopper plug-in conceived as an assistant tool to
generate Digital Twins data for buildings and infrastructure.
It facilitates the
interaction with 4D IFC-BIM modeling, IoT, and Structural Analysis within a unified parametric
environment without jumping between applications.
IFC 4x3_ADD2
MatchFEM supports the latest approved IFC standard, 4x3_ADD2, which
includes extended functionality for infrastructure modeling. Users can create BIM models for
buildings and bridges using IFC geometries such as Breps, AdvancedBreps, SweptSolids, and
SweptDisks.
Every element can be classified according to IFC PredefinedTypes. Planning
and Scheduling can be seamlessly added into the model using IfcWorkSchedule and IfcTasks,
linked directly to the corresponding IFC elements.

IoT Monitoring
Sensor integration is made simple with MatchFEM. Users can
position IfcSensors within the BIM model and link them to their corresponding IFC
elements.
The plug-in also supports direct interaction with Arduino Cloud, enabling
data retrieval and the creation of custom monitoring variables.

Structural Analysis
MatchFEM enables the generation of IFC-Structural Analysis
models using the same geometry as the BIM, ensuring fidelity and saving valuable time. It
leverages the robust Grasshopper geometric engine to facilitate discretization of frames and
shells.
Once the analysis model is ready, users can export it to standard formats
such as Abaqus or our O-SAM (Open Structural Analysis Models) for further web-based
integration.
